My love for travel and adventure grew out of my love of the American short story. Short stories are snapshots of people's lives — joy and sorrow, success and failure, pleasure and pain played out like one terrific round of a championship fight. Short stories are life shouted out in caps. They also engendered my love of famous quotes.
